  1. Thank you so much for posting this piece. It was one of the most empowering things I have ever seen as I inch mentally ever so slowly toward transitioning. I think that this might just accellerate the process. I knew that something was drwing me to your blog since monday for a reason. This is it. Thank you.

  2. Chituru, I can't tell you how happy your comment makes me. Thank you for stopping by re:thinking beauty. I spent the majority of my life with my hair 'relaxed', so I understand the mental inching that can be involved with transitioning. A few years ago, I got to a point where, as an adult, I realized it bothered me that I didn't know what my natural hair texture was like. I haven't looked back since going natural, and I highly recommend it.
To be clear, I am not against chemically processed hair. I appreciate a beautiful hair style no matter the texture. It's just that discovering my own natural hair texture was like uncovering a treasure nobody told me I had right on top of my head. So I'm excited for you, truly! Let me know how it goes, and, if you feel like it, feel free to send me before and after pics at claratown@gmail.com, so that I can celebrate your transition on re:thinking beauty!
    be well,
